For patients & physicians
Cash-pay referrals, submitted by your own physician
Synapse pairs a paying patient with their verified physician. The patient gets access to the directory; the physician submits every referral with a full audit trail. Neither one goes it alone.

For patients
You pay for access — individually or through an employer seat — and invite the physician you already trust.
- Subscribe monthly, annually, or use an employer seat.
- Invite your physician by email or NPI. They only verify once.
- See every referral update in your dashboard, in real time.
For physicians
Free for physicians. Get verified once by our compliance team, then submit referrals for any linked patient.
- One-time manual verification — NPI, state license, and identity.
- Accept invites from patients with active Synapse access.
- Submit minimum-necessary referrals. No diagnosis required.
- Track every referral status change with timestamps.
How the three lanes fit together
Patient pays
Patient subscribes or claims an employer seat. Access is required before any referral can be sent.
Physician submits
The patient's verified physician picks a cash-pay provider on Synapse and submits the referral — never the patient directly.
Physician responds
The referral lands in the physician's inbox. Everyone sees the status update.
Minimum-necessary by design
We don't ask for diagnosis or clinical narrative. Only the patient, the linked physician, the provider, and the reason for referral live in Synapse. Deeper clinical detail moves provider-to-provider outside our data store.
